In a noteworthy turn of events, Buddhadev Sao, the Interim Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University, attended the convocation ceremony on Sunday morning, setting aside recent controversies.
Sao, who had faced removal from the post due to alleged disobedience of orders from Acharya and Governor CV Anand Bose during a previous convocation ceremony, appeared on stage shortly after the event commenced.
The controversies surrounding Sao's removal escalated when Raj Bhavan announced his dismissal on Saturday night. However, the State Higher Education Department contested the decision, labeling it illegal and in violation of a Supreme Court order.
Subsequently, a decision was reached to reinstate Buddhadev Sao to the position of Vice Chancellor.
